i want a new home theater system, but i am confused on which is best, can someone please help me choose, i need about 1200 watts, and a built in DVD player, and five speakers plus a powerful sub. if you own a system with amazing sound and thundering base that you are very impressed with please let me know, thanks very much. P.S. if you know what is so special about panasonic's "360 surround", let me know, and is it worth it.
We randomly decided to go to wal-mart and buy a good subwoofer. we had a sony 10" home theater woofer and it was weak as hell so we installed this pioneer, unfortunately the woofer was too big for the box. so we made our own modification which worked out great. using bed foam 1.5" thick, and drilling around the hole itself. it turned out soooo amazing. and it hits 5x harder then the stock sub. I completely suggest doing this yourself. instead of buying an expensive home theater woofer. spend under 0 building your own woofer with an cheap sony powered woofer. and then putting a 1000w car woofer in it.(: try it! (: SPECS: Pioneer 10" TS-W253R 1000w Car stereo subwoofer. Frequency response: 20hz - 180hz OLD sony stock SAW2500 woofer: 10" 100w (MAX) handling power, the amp gives more power to the speaker than it could honestly take. so this was a good thing switching out.
I want to connect my laptop to home theater, because my dvd player can't play HD movies, though my laptop can.
Reason because i'm asking is that i have no idea how to connect those speaker wires (2 front + 2 back + sub + center) into a standard 3.5mm jack in my laptop.
Please suggest something without buying expensive stuff if you can.
my speakers use spring clip conections and i don't have an amp
I have a problem and was wondering if anyone could assist me with it. I just got for Christmas a 5.1 Sony DVD Home Theatre System (Model: DAV-HDX285) it works perfectly and beyound what I imagined, in some ways even better then how a movie theatre acutally sounds like, but that's only when I have it set to DVD mode from when you change the function you want on your receiver
remote. Overall, when I attempt to switch to regular TV mode just to watch my FIOS cable- only the Front Right, Centre, and Subwoofer work. The rest of the speakers of which are the Front Left, Back Right, and Back Left do not work, they have no sound coming out of them but work perfectly when I put a DVD into the system. I have no clue what is causing this problem or sort of conflict, I don't know if maybe one of the cables aren't in right, or there is a certain cable I may need to use when watching Verizon FIOS TV to make all of the speakers run smoothly and effectively. I just want to say, the system is brand new, has never been touched, came right from the store and I was just wondering what this problem could possibly be and how I can resolve this to make my viewing experience more pleasurable while watching normal TV and not a DVD. Just setting up the wires and cables into the back of the TV and receiver itself was a pain in the ass- as I never had a system like this before and I got confused right off the bat so I may have something in wrong, I just need a helpful hand and would like anyone kind enough to guide me on what I should do and the measures I should take.
