I can connect the DVD to the 42" Vizio flat screen tv through a HDMI cord, however, the Vizio doesn't have the neccessary RCA inputs/outputs to connect to the Home Theater System. There are 5 HDMI ports and the Sony 5.1 HTS doesn't have any at all.
My new (to me) home is pre-wired. I have a Phillips Home Theater system that has FTC output power of 510W and Home Theater mode of 1000W. This unit has 5 speakers and a subwoofer for it. I want to use the output for the center speaker for 6 in wall 10" speakers. I need to determine if I have enough power from that one output.
Should I get a Vizio Sound bar HD. Or should I just get a full out Home theater system? I have heard the sound bar is surround sound. I will be using this mostly in a 10-3x11-11 Ft Room. I do have a 2" Subwoofer I can hook up to the sound bar. Believe it or not alot of bass comes out of that thing.

i want a new home theater system, but i am confused on which is best, can someone please help me choose, i need about 1200 watts, and a built in DVD player, and five speakers plus a powerful sub. if you own a system with amazing sound and thundering base that you are very impressed with please let me know, thanks very much. P.S. if you know what is so special about panasonic's "360 surround", let me know, and is it worth it.
Anyone help me i've tried just about everything and still nothings working i think i might just go back to the xbox360 slim "i think that ps3 is awesome " free online play and all the games you want for 9.99 but the xbox360 has less compatibility issues. Can anyone please give me some info on hooking the surround sound up before i trade my system in?
Well, I'm confused here. I have a 40" Samsung HDTV and would like to have a surround system installed. Sound bar with subwoofer or 5.1 Home theater system.

i have recently bought a Microlab X5 5.1 home theater system. I got it unspeakably cheap since the guy didn't use it much. problem is- the 8" 4ohms 90W RMS woofer in the subwoofer has some holes around the foam rims.
I plan on changing only the woofer with a car woofer (what you see in the car subwoofer box). My concern is- if the ratings like watt, ampere, match- should i go for one? is there anything I'm missing out on?
NOTE - not the cabinet or box, just the 8" woofer guys.

I need to enter the remote code into my Dish Network VIP622 satellite receiver remote (5.3 IR, EchoStar 148785), and none of the several Samsung codes listed with the VIP622 manual work. I tried the "seek" method and none of those worked, either . Is my TX72 simply not supported on this remote (yet)?
When i have parties at my house i LOVE the loud music, the bass, and was sick of borrowing my friends, so I bought a RT2870 Home theater system. What caught my eye was the 1,000 watt receiver, so i thought i could use it to buy a system like the 2 speaker system my friend had. His speakers were about 4' high and were loud with the receiver he had. The problem with mine is that it's a home theater receiver, not a stereo receiver, so i don't have all the inputs and controls a normal stereo receiver has. Is there anything i can buy as an "add on" to my home theater receiver that can give me these control. What would it be, and what speakers would give me what i want? I know this is alot, but if anyone can help me it'd be great.
