I'm lookin to update my home system, i think the base in my system is a bit lacking and wanted to update just this part. I was looking at home theatre system subwoofers but they also seem to be a bit lacking in power and are very expensive for what they are. I was wondering if you can use a car subwoofer in your own home theatre system to beef up the base. I was thinking like the Pioneer or Fusion units??? I personally am into dubstep so as you can tell my system is lacking in this department.

Can anyone give advice on: is this possible to even do? What are the best makes of car subwoofers? and what sort of prices will they be? I am also looking in the range of 300 - 500 watts.

Speakers plus dvd player in a package like Pioneer HTS-950NXT - Home theater system cost less than a pair of good quality speakers. I have good main speakers. Just want to have speakers as Presence speakers for a Yamama system and want an extra subwoofer as an add-on to the main speaker and two surround speakers or surround back speakers. Thx

Playing the well none bass song Bassotronics-Bass i love you on my 6.1 home theater surround system on 6 sterio setting. using all the surround speakers and two subwoofers a JBL ES150 300watts rms 10" and a Eltax Atomic 12" subwoofer-not sure on the rms, also Eltax milenium 500's each housing twin 10" bass driver a 5 1/4" inch midrange and a 1" dome tweeter, center and rear center are Eltax Symphony's, rear surrounds are Eltax Discoverys all housing 4" drivers and 3/4" dome tweeters all hooked up to a Pioneer VSX D814 multi channel AV Receiver.total power just over 1200watts rms this includes subwoofers.

I am looking to start building my own Home Theater System. I have a Hitachi HDTV, PS3, and 360. I know the PS3 decodes PCM, so do I need a receiver that decodes the new DTS HD and Dolby True HD? I am looking at either a Pioneer 519v-k or 819h-k or Yamaha 465. Any information or advice would be great. Thanks.

This is a 7.1 home theater system that I designed. I found the models in the 3-D warehouse and pieced them together into this. It has a 50" 1080p Pioneer KURO PDP-5080HD, and a MacBook Pro. There is a Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH 7.1 channel home theater receiver, a Sony PlayStation 3, a Humax PVR, a Zune HD, and a Nintendo Wii. To control all of these things, there is an AMX MVP-7500 universal remote. The speakers have 6" low-end drivers, 1" tweeters, and 3" midrange drivers in the towers. There is a powered subwoofer with a 500 watt BASH amplifier and a 12" long-throw bass driver. These speakers are in a 7.1 configuration. This home theater also has a pair of Berkline 45003-47 home theater chairs. Don't forget to rate and comment!
