I bought an "all in one" Panasonic home theater system (ie receiver, stereo and DVD are all one unit, not separate components) 5 years ago. Recently the DVD player refuses to play certain commercial disks I get from Netflix or Best Buy--it simply refuses to "spin" and says "Disc Error--No Play." The only fix I've been able to discover is that if I play an older movie in its entirety, after the older movie is over, the player will SOMETIMES load the newer movie (Its bizarre--its like the DVD player needs to "warm up" on the older disks first). I've tried a disc cleaner to no avail. Anyone have a solution? Alternatively, since the audio still works great (if I can get a disc to actually play), I was wondering if I could buy a new DVD player and somehow connect it to the current home theater system so I still have surround sound without having to buy a whole new system. Is this possible or do I have to buy a whole new system?

I just recently purchased a Panasonic TH-50PX75U Plasma and the Panasonic SC-PT650 Home Theater System. I didn't want to pay for the installation so we did it on our own. The only problem e have encountered is we can not get the surround sound to work when just watching cable or playing video games. It only works when using the DVD player. Is there a way to make it work?
Will these answeres provide surround sound when using Nintendo Wii?

Quick review on the Skullcandy skullcrusher headphones

I have a Panasonic home theatre system and my brother gave me his speakers from his home theatre system but its a another brand (samsung) his receiver broke so basically he gave me it since no one willing to buy it . So is there a way i can use it?

I'm on a rather tight budget lately, yet I still want a best-bang-for-the-buck receiver and speakers to accompany my 42" Panasonic Plasma HDTV and DV-980H OPPO Digital DVD/CD player. I'm more concerned with audio than video as I will be using SACD's & DVD-A's to enjoy Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Herbie Hancock and Debussy. Any suggestions from experienced owners/dealers?

While I'm at it - what about headphones? Will my standard Sony's support SACD/DVD-A playback or do I need a specialized type?

Thank you in advance. Your time and knowledge is greatly appreciated and valued.
