I bought the home theater system, but I couldn't find anywhere, neither in the owner's manual nor on the LG website, that says whether or not it plays DVD's or Blu-Rays from other regions.

...Looking for a DVD player compatible with speakers? Suggestions?
I have Philips HTS6500 5.1 500W DVD Home Theater System & am Looking for a DVD player compatible with the speakers that came with the system? More specifically is there any standalone player out there that can support the wires and fittings of these Philips speakers? Thanks in advance for the help.

Well, I'm confused here. I have a 40" Samsung HDTV and would like to have a surround system installed. Sound bar with subwoofer or 5.1 Home theater system.
Based on your personal experience please drop your suggestions.

i have recently bought a Microlab X5 5.1 home theater system. I got it unspeakably cheap since the guy didn't use it much. problem is- the 8" 4ohms 90W RMS woofer in the subwoofer has some holes around the foam rims.

I plan on changing only the woofer with a car woofer (what you see in the car subwoofer box). My concern is- if the ratings like watt, ampere, match- should i go for one? is there anything I'm missing out on?
NOTE - not the cabinet or box, just the 8" woofer guys.

I just received my LG LHB336 Home Theater System and I really like the sound from the speakers but I was really disappointed with the subwoofer. I am a bass junkie and my 150 watt Logitech system has better bass than this. I was looking into the Polk PSW505 powered sub but I didn't know if I would be able to this use it with my receiver. I am new to home audio so if you could answer in simple terms I would appreciate it. Thanks

and by the way i don't wanna go over 200 dollars on buying one i don't want a state of the art system just a simple one for TV and games mostly..

I want a new home theater system for my HDTV, but I have no experience with a speaker system and need some help.

What I want to do is have a speaker system hooked up to my HDTV somehow, so that I can use the entire surround sound system with WHATEVER is playing on my TV. For example, I have a PS3, Xbox360, PS2, etc. all hooked up to the HDTV. No matter what I'm playing or watching on the TV, I want to be able to use the speaker system. Even if Surround sound isn't available for the source (like a ps2) then I at least want to be able use the speakers in mono or front stereo so I have the bass quality. The reason I say all of that is because I have heard on some DVD Home Theater Systems you can only use the speakers when watching that DVD player that came with the system.

This is the system I am looking at:

On my HDTV, I have a digital optical audio out port, a regular audio port, and an HDMI port free to use for the speaker system. Here is a picture of my ports on my TV model:

Is it possible to achieve what I want with this system? If so, how would I do it and what would I need?

Can you use a 5.1 DVD Home Theater System to play the TV audio or computer audio or does it mean that the system only works for the DVD player audio and not the other?
