I have a Samsung 46" 720p TV, Sony Blue Ray, Sony Home Theater system/Receiver (has multiple HD inputs), My Dish Network HD DVR Box...Basically I have it working,but I don't feel I have it hooked up correctly...I have my DVR hooked up to my TV, My receiver hook up to my tv and my Blue ray connected to my TV...is there a better way that I should be doing this...Also, in order for my TV to get the full HD experience should I get a special HD cable for my TV?
I have a Craig shelf system with a 3CD changer and an AM/FM tuner. It has two matching speakers that attach to the back with a red and black wire for each. As you can tell, I know nothing when it comes to audio systems. What I'm wondering is if I can use this stereo as a receiver and just buy the speakers rather than the entire home theater system, seeing as how the receiver is the most expensive part.

I bought the Yamaha receiver/Klipsch home theater system for around 0. And I haven't put the thing together just yet because I just saw an add in Best Buy's sales papers for a Yamaha YHT-391 Home Theater system (receiver and speakers w/ sub) for 0. Money is an issue for me, and I don't want buyer's remorse, so I was wondering if I should return my purchase and go for the Yamaha home theater system instead, unless the difference in the quality of sound of my RX-V465/Klipsch300 is that much better than the YHT-391 system. Anyone have any input?
i have a samsung HT-DB600 home theater system, but the receiver no longer reads DVDs. I was wondering is there is anywhere that I can buy just a replacement receiver. Or are there other models that care compatible with my speakers?
i can't get the sound to come through when watching tv but i can get the DVD player to work. I am not sure what i am doing wrong, or if i am missing a cable or something. I have a VIZIO HDTV if that helps any. I have an HDMI cable going from the cable box to the tv, and then i used the RCA cables from the tv to the home theater system but that i not working just the DVD player.

I have a Toshiba satellite laptop, that has an S-Video connect. my cheap DVD player/surround sound/home theater system has an S-Video connect as well. the DVD player "thing" has the connection on the back. the player connects to a 1-piece amp/sub through six plugs and connects to 5 speakers through plugs off of the amp/sub. but there is no screen on the DVD player to figure how to play the music coming from the laptop.
I'm trying to avoid connecting the system to a TV, and going that route, just trying to play music from my laptop through my surround sound system. i have the s-video cord and misc a/v cords, but connecting the two electronics through just the s-video cord does nothing, music plays through the laptop speakers still, and not through the surround sound system.
