at the moment i have a 5.1 home theatre system connected to cable tv. However when i turn my display (TV) off the home theatre speakers still outputs the audio its receiving from the cable tv. How would i stop this from happening?
also how would i be able to set the receiver so i have the option of choosing whether i want to use 5.1 sound or just from the tv speakers?
i hooked up the cable tv box to the receiver and the receiver outputs through hdmi to the tv.
at the moment when i turn the tv off i switch the receiver to an empty slot (like dvd) so there is no audio/video output. Is this good or should i just turn the receiver on to stand by.
I have a philips 42pfl5603d tv hooked up to my comcast HD receiver using HDMI as a connection. THAT'S DONE. next I have my Blu ray dvd hooked up to my rca rt2390 audio inputs via rca cables and composite cables going directly to the tv. THAT'S DONE. The problem is I want to play sound from the tv (when I'm watching cable tv) into the home theater system when i press the tv button on the home theater receiver....I have a digital audio cable coming from the tv directly to the receivers digital audio input, but I get no sound at all. My tv is new (still trying to get familiar with it) and I need to know if anybody can give me a hand. Thanks a bunch.
Love Home Theater? Go to tiger.tv and meet the Yamaha YHT-680BL Home Theater System. This 5.1 surround sound system pumps 100-watts RMS to each satellite and 100-watts to the sub. And it comes with DVD, DivX playback, HDMI as well as high-quality component connections. Also: SCENE equipment controls, XM ready and HD Surround sound capable.
I bought this especially for the release of Rockstar's most anticipate game to come yet, 'RED DEAD REDEMPTION' and testing the sound quality with surround sound and subwoofer set up. This is my small entertainment/bed room where I can watch blu ray movies, dvd, browse the net and go online for multiplayer games. I had the intention of creating a small home cinema at a low budget cost as a student. I am proud of what I've got so far
I recently purchased a HDTV with 1080p and a blu-ray DVD player (PS3), and wonder what are home theater systems that would provide better outcomes at a reasonable cost (<0). Do I need to buy a system or a receiver and separate speakers with capacity of 7.1 channel and HDMI 1.3 output?. Any recommendations on particular brand name and model?
Thanks ahead of time for your help!
It can be a home theater in-a-box, or buying a receiver and speakers separately.
Requirements:
1) MUST have Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio.
2) MUST have at LEAST 3 HDMI imputs.
3) MUST be good over-all for movies AND music.
I am looking for the best bang-for-the-buck.
