I just bought a new Samsung LCD TV (LN-T4661) and a LG Home Theater (LFD790) system. I set it all up and everything works great when I watch DVDs. However, I can't get the regular TV sound to go through the Home Theater.

I have the following connections right now:

Cable box to TV - HDMI
LG Home Theater base to TV - HDMI
LG Home Theater subwoofer to TV - Optical

Please help!

My cable box and my DVD player both have on the back a digital coaxial audio output. I'm looking for a home theater system with digital coaxial audio input. My friend already gave me the digital coaxial cable. I don't want a home theater with only left (white) and right (red) inputs. Thanks!

I received a Philips DVD Home Theater System (model #: HTS3372D/F7), I have a Sharp Television (model #: 27A-S120), a PS3 and a Nintendo Wii, I also have a cable box provided to me by my cable company it is made by Motorola. To connect all the devices I purchased a 4-way component video distribution amplifier from RadioShack.

When I connect all the devices the only thing that plays from the surround sound speakers is the television, the DVD player on the surround sound system will not play the video, when I turn on one of the game systems and leave the speakers on you can hear the sound from the TV.

How do I connect all four devices and have the sound from each device play like it should be properly?

I have a new receiver and was wondering if any one knew how to hook it up to my Comcast cable box

I lost the remote control for my Koss DVD player/home theater system. It was inexpense and is now discontinued. A replacement remote is "unavailable." I'd like to be able to enjoy the surround effects available on DVDs and from HD-cable, but I'm not a "top end" guy, so I'm looking for an inexpensive DVD palyer with 5.1 output for the surround speakers and digital (prefer optical) input for the HD-cable sound. Any recommendations?
Thank you!
I guess I wasn't clear. I'm looking for a DVD player with amplifier/ surround sound OUTPUT to the six speakers I have in place and optical audio INPUT from my cable box to the six-speaker 5.1 surround sound.
Thanks again to anyone reading or re-reading!
Thanks and a big HAT TIP to Drummerboy. It pays to read all of a reply, I've realized. The reference to cheap universal remotes made me reconsider why I didn't just use my cable box remote (the volume control would only work the TV). With a little investigation, I learned about "unlocking volume control" which SHOULD tie the volume control to whichever device I select on the remote (cable - TV - aux).
What a GREAT solution! Thanks again, Drummerboy!

I have the following equipment:

We have a Samsung DVD player which has a home theater system speakers, how do I connect it to my LCD TV? We also have our cable box connected too. Can someone please explain?

How can I connect my xbox 360 and cable box for the sound to come out of the surround sound system? I tried many ways but one keeps not working. I have these cable : 2 hdmi, 1 aux, 1 component, 1 digital audio cable, my receiver only have has 1 hdmi connection

and 2 digital audio

I just bough a new LG LE478500 TV and am ready to upgrade my speakers to 5.1 Surround. I don't want to just get a Home Theater in a Box and instead would like to pick out a receiver that will fit all of my needs. I am fairly know at home theater setups so I wanted to make sure there isn't something that is special about my TV that wouldn't work with certain receivers. The items I am looking to connect to this receiver are as follows:

Record Player
Xbox 360
HTPC
Blu Ray Player
Cable Box

Most of these will be with HDMI and then as far as I know I plug the HDMI output into my TV.
Any suggestions on warnings would be greatly appreciated.

My cable box audio is connected to my home theater system by optical cable. Until recently, all was fine, now I do not have sound from the theater system on some HD stations. On others, only certain programs do not have sound others do. I have sound on ALL non-HD channels. The theater receiver indicator shows the signal is there. Do you think this could be the fault of the cable box, or some other problem?
