Low Cost Home Surround Sound System CUSTOM LOOK
I purchased a low cost, actually the lowest priced surround sound system that Wal-Mart had on the market. I think it was about 5.00 range. I cut in to the sheetrock and built in the system with the DVD player. It really sits in the closet of the bathroom now. Sure the Watts. are low on this low cost system, but really how much sound does one require for a master bedroom? - Anyways I cut the sheetrock and ran the wires behind the wall, then under the baseboards. I put the sub wof. under the bed. On a scale of 1- 10 I give this low cost project a 9 1/2 due to the simple fact that it looks very custom, did not cost any money, and give a great sound for pennies on the dollar. Patching the sheetrock from running the wires was the hardest part, and was took more time rather than hard work. This is proof that you can have a surround system that wont break your pocket book. Hope this helps, and remember that you can always purchase one or two steps above the low cost unit that I have and be happy. ( Total cost was as follows: System 5.00 Cables .00 Sheetrock supplies .00 Paint .00 Wood trim .00 and some personal work that took a few days.

nice man my stepdad is getting a 55 inch hdtv man and ima big gamer so ima try to get him to look at a surround stystem how do you hook up one with out it being in the wall
Seriously i don’t know what it is but you make great videos. You need to make more.
There’s so many fake dicks on U Tube, and when you find someone real it’s really good.
I’ve just bought a fish tank so that’s how i found your channel. But i was dissapointed to find you only have a few vids.
ps your home surround system is great. $108 is about £70 which is crazy cheap.
I will say I would never buy rca, I know it is a budget system but I have never found any rca products that i like. and the only problem that i see is that were you have all the components in the wall stacked so tightly you are really running a risk of over heating. The install itself it awesome though, Great craftsmanship.
all of it looks realy well done man but the only thing was I saw that looks bad was the tv come on man why that tv those tv are a rip of I know I sell them
If you pushed on the speakers in the wall, will the fall back into the wall?
that would be the case with anything in the wall. So really it doesnt matter, only thing he might worry about over heating is the reciever and thats cause there shouldnt be anything ontop of the reciever so that the breather holes can breath. As for the wires and speakers..hahahahaha come one man they dont overheat. I install home theater speakers for texas boss entertainment and speakers and cables never over heat, only thing to worry about there is if you have rats in the walls.
you did an amazing job! it looks amazing! keep it up!
Very nice setup you got there for home theatre! Check mine out sometime!
wow looks good u do great on hiding it all
three subwoofers under the bed. Not to close being that its in a bedroom and when your in the bed you wasnt the sound to hit you in the bed. I made it so that the sound is the best in the bed, not made for the room. Think of it like centering a light on a celing for the room, or where your placeing the dinning room table. You always place the light for the table not centered for the room. So the same goes here “centered” for the bed not the room
Where did you hide the subwoofer? Also don’t you think the right and left speakers are a little to close to each other
I have the same system can you tell me how did you have the speaker in place without falling out or in the wall?I’m trying to do my den like this but wil need sum help
why would you waste all that time and put a 100$ home theater in it .. that system has a total harmonic distortion of about 1or 2 % . for a extra 150 bucks could have got a onkyo set up with a thd of .08 so you could crank it up with out hearing hum or fuzz.. . dont get me wrong its better then tv speakers , but when you put that much time into making it look nice whats a extra 100 – 150 bucks for quality that is going to last.
@oooanthonyooo I 100% agree.. My house is on the market for sale and I was simly keeping myself busy during that process, and It looks nice to have this for the prospective buyer. I will put in a nicer system in my new house next month.
Txdave — ohhh good job then ,, i woulda did the same shiet.
Question, you run the speaker wire from the wall to the bottom of the floor then tuck em behind the trim molding?
That is so awesomely done, very nice too. Good Job!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice setup !! I like it !!
very neet, i like it. I may take some insperation from this video at least as far as makeing a hi-fi cuby hole, as my front room wall has a cuberd on the other side. Thanx Txdave01
Very clean . I like it .
very nicely done however I have to agree it seems like a lot of work for a system that is not worth the work but hey to each his own if its good enough for you and yours thats all that matters
Well done. Looks like 5* Want to do the same. How did u run the wires though the studs inside the wall.
look fun for ps3 =P
@Txdave01 hey Dave, so nice set up everything looks really clean and prfessional. I can do just about everything you did in the vid except how did you run the speaker wires sideways from speaker to receiver? if you didnt use the attic then what did you do? completely remove your drywall?
I cut a small whole in the wall, where the speakers go and then a small whole near the bottom of the wall next to the base boards. I then ran behind the baseboards
did gtreat on this set up.. I am actualy giving actualy rating it 5 stars as the highest.. but my only concern is the vents for the stereo or whatever gadget you have on the side..
