I have an Akai turntable without a built-in amplifier & would like to transfer my LP's to my PC. Do I need to buy a separate amplifier or can I use the amplifier/receiver from a home theatre system?

I'm going to get Panasonic SC-HT940 Deluxe 5 DVD HomeTheater System with my lcd TV. If I connect computer on this system and play 1080p movie trailer will it play hifi sounds? Also games or sound that has surround sound if I play in computer will it play in surround sound on the system?

I have a RCA HD TV, SV 2000 digital dvd/vcr player,Apex digital home theater system, directv cable box, and a Liteon dvd recorder. I have not been able to connect them since I got them a year ago.I was told I had to buy a dvd recorder in order to record movies I watched on cable because the SV 2000 was just for playing. Can you tell me,(the absolutely not technically inclined person) in simple terms how to connect these componants? Thanks, tgoree75785

I want to know which receiver to buy for my Home Theater system, my friends say DENON 3806 is best..do you any suggestions regarding this...

The HT-X250 Home Cinema system from Samsung has the very best 5.1 sound quality and an overall power of 600W! Very stylish, the HT-X250 has curved lines and includes a DivX-compatible DVD player, a punchy subwoofer, 4 stereo speakers and a central speaker. This system uses Dolby Digital and DTS technology to bring out the best in your favorite films. What's more, its DVD player can be placed either horizontally or vertically so you can adapt it to fit your living space.

I'm in the process of purchasing both a sirius satellite radio and a satellite ready home theater system. I'm just not sure if i need to also purchase a sirius home docking station to connect the two. Why exactly is it a satellite ready theater receiver if i need a satellite docking station to make it work?

thank you for any info.

I am pretty much a newbie when it comes to home theater system. I love home theater system sound, especially bass, but my knowledge on such field is very limited. All those sound terms, ratings, and measurements really confuses me. Anyway, I have a Sony DAVDX150 home theater system that is rated at 800watts. Its subwoofer is only rated at 130watts. Compared to my Bose lifestlye 12 system, which I don't own anymore, Sony DAVDX150 is pretty crappy. Importantly, I hardly get any bass out of this thing. So, I have been wondering if I can buy a subwoofer that is over 350watts(somewhere I heard Bose's subwoofer is 350watts, So I want something around or over 350watts) and connect it to my Sony. Firstly, is it possible to do that? Do I need amplifiers? How to connect?

Thanks for the responses!

I have a ps3 and i am going to get a home theater system and i wanted to know can I just use my ps3 as my dvd player with the system or do i need a seperate dvd player

I'm looking to find out what to look for in a receiver or home theatre system so I am able to watch tv inside, and play a dvd or ipod outside using the same receiver. (i.e. Dora inside and Radiohead outside on the deck) Any help would be appreciated!!
